Born Chat is open: PromptKit UI, live model lanes, and the public training loop.

We shipped Born Chat before the model story is finished on purpose. The point is to let people work against the same surface that feeds the Born roadmap, instead of hiding the model loop behind a vague product page and waiting for marketing-safe perfection.

What shipped

The front end is built from PromptKit's chat-ui components and aligned against the broader llms-full.txt reference. We kept the shell clean, login-gated, and fast enough to behave like a normal daily chat surface rather than a research demo that collapses under real use.

The model lanes are live, uploads are available, and users can keep history in the cloud or store it only in the local browser. The page is intentionally direct about the fact that we read messages and may use them to improve future Born fine-tuning runs.

Model lanes

Born-Max-Preview is the upcoming model. It is being tuned deeply around longer planning chains, budget awareness, and heavier multi-step work.

Born-9b (Alpha) is the daily-trained lane. This is the model users should expect to see move often.

The smaller comparison dropdown adds DeepSeek V4 Flash, Mimo v2.5 Pro, MiniMax M2.5, Qwen3.5-397B-A17B, and Kimi K2.5. Kimi is explicitly marked as the fast lane.

We are leaving this as a coming-soon layer because the first task is still product honesty: make the limits visible, make the data policy visible, and let users see how the system behaves before we optimize monetization around it.
